A BESTÅ sideboard worthy of any record player!

After getting a record player for Christmas, it was clear it couldn’t be assigned to the floor of our living room forever. A solution, therefore, was to find a record player console – or similar – that would hold it along with the rest of my HiFi system and records. A quick scan of Google and Pinterest led me to a rather beautiful wooden sideboard which looks classically Scandinavian and has that vintage feel. A bit of further research led me to the IKEA Hackers website and a post of the record player console by a contributor in September! See more of the record player stand here . Having seen how much a good quality sideboard would cost me, I determined that if I want something similar I would simply have to build it myself. (Just to make clear, I have very little experience with DIY apart from woodwork at school and a general sense of enjoyment for getting my hands dirty.) Stylish and spacious living area

These adjacent living room and kitchen areas are filled with natural light that is reflected off the white floors and walls. The big kitchen in mint green looks very fresh, though the black dining table with the dark area underneath it makes this look a bit more dramatic. The living room is kept very light, with lots of art prints and artefacts. Source Coco Lapine Design

Home in soft pink

I think the owners of this flat were so daring to paint their entire home in shades of pink. This is something I would never go for myself (I would go more in the beige or grey direction) but I love the way it looks here. These warm colors on the wall give the entire flat a very warm and subtile look, which is perfectly matched with furniture in wood and browns. The kitchen is painted in a lighter shade of dusty pink, which goes perfectly with the marble countertops there and makes this area a lot lighter. Source Coco Lapine Design

Check Out 15 Stunning Tile Design Ideas Just In Time for National Tile Day

National Tile Day is February 23. And we can thank the largest stone and tile show in North America, Coverings , for bringing it back. “National Tile Day is rooted in a desire to celebrate the many great benefits tile has to offer as a material,” explains Alena Capra, industry ambassador for Coverings. “We’re encouraging the architecture and design community to get inspired by tile.” Tile is a great choice when you’re looking for something durable and unique. Nowadays it can even look like hardwood flooring, complete with the grooves and textures, but offers a lower maintenance surface that doesn’t need refinishing. We’ve come a long way from the basic white 16″ squares of the past. Here are 15 tile design ideas to inspire you: Mid-century modern tile design ideas Collect this idea A mid-century modern dining room wall is finished in a white retro tile to add texture. Before and After – Freestanding Bath Renovations

Our new series of coming articles will display and show off a little some of the great before after bathroom renovations we have completed. These are just a fraction of the bathrooms we do but each one we are incredibly proud of. The key to this style of layout is to understand that cleaning will be the big factor in if you want this design. Unlike a traditional drop-in bath which has brickwork all around it the freestanding often has gaps in place of those bricks. It’s important to note that often you can stand in the bath and get to these spots so it’s not the end of the world but if you are someone who has difficulty bending I wouldn’t recommend it. Today we will display 5 before and after bathroom renovations throughout Perth, WA  that have incorporated the freestanding bath in the classic family bathroom layout. A warm greige home

This wonderful home with greige walls is decorated with warm elements for a perfectly harmonious and cozy vibe. The leather and wood accents in the living room combined with the fluffy area rug makes this room very cozy. The kitchen is optimally used with cabinets all the way up to the ceiling and the bedroom combines bedding and a bed skirt in the same color, which is a nice look as well. Source Coco Lapine Design

Studio Lotta Agaton

I don’t think I have to mention that I love Lotta Agaton’s work and especially with stylist Pella Hedeby joining the team now (another favorite stylist of mine) I think we can expect some really nice work coming from their team this year. It was to be expected that their workplace itself would be gorgeous as well and I think it matches perfectly with their aesthetics. Source Coco Lapine Design

Bathroom Tiling Trends of 2018

Renovations are about 90% preparation as my father would say and the other 10% should be an easier execution. Researching your bathroom is all about that preparation so it is crucial to follow the latest trends and see if they are right for you. With trends that’s what they are trends they come and go but this is not to say they don’t make the most out of the space. Below I will show you three latest bathroom tiling trends that I personally think work in modern bathrooms and won’t age your bathroom a year from now. 1. Get Creative With Encaustic Pattern Tiles Patterned designs are another trend that isn’t going anywhere. Starting with colourful designs a few years ago, the pattern trend has very much settled down in terms of colour and has become more of a vintage style, with the encaustic look becoming evermore popular.  With this be careful what you pick you to need to love it with all your heart as this style is very hit and miss. Most people we have done this for have loved it b

Kid’s closet in the hallway: Perfect for little coats & shoes

I just put together a kid’s closet for my little one, which turned out great. In our hallway, I had a little spot and needed a place for my son’s coats, shoes and accessories . I could’t find anything that would fit and looked good. So I decided to make one myself. IKEA items used: EKET cabinet EKET adjustable feet EKET box 3 different SKUGGIS hooks DITTE fabric DRAGAN box Other materials: Hacking a kid’s closet for the hallway First, I got 2 EKET cabinets, the deep ones to put the EKET box in. The adjustable EKET feet to level it out. Then I got some some hooks. I choose the SKUGGIS and a DRAGAN box to put in small bits. Next, I cut the wood panel to the right height and rounded the edges and painted it white. After that, I searched the internet for a nice wallpaper and came across a “half moon” wallpaper. I took it as an inspiration and used some potatoes to stamp the color on the panel.(Use a sponge to soak up some color and press the potato onto it. T
