Bathroom Tiling Trends of 2018

Renovations are about 90% preparation as my father would say and the other 10% should be an easier execution. Researching your bathroom is all about that preparation so it is crucial to follow the latest trends and see if they are right for you.

With trends that’s what they are trends they come and go but this is not to say they don’t make the most out of the space. Below I will show you three latest bathroom tiling trends that I personally think work in modern bathrooms and won’t age your bathroom a year from now.

1. Get Creative With Encaustic Pattern Tiles

Patterned designs are another trend that isn’t going anywhere. Starting with colourful designs a few years ago, the pattern trend has very much settled down in terms of colour and has become more of a vintage style, with the encaustic look becoming evermore popular.  With this be careful what you pick you to need to love it with all your heart as this style is very hit and miss. Most people we have done this for have loved it but others who see the pictures don’t so much. Have conviction in what you choose.

2. Eye-Popping Feature Walls

If you’re looking to make a bold statement with your bathroom update, then why not experiment with feature walls with a wow. Whether you want wall-to-wall luxury or an eye-catching feature wall, incorporating metallic accents, marble and wood with bathroom tiles is a fantastic way to transform and personalise a typically functional room. I am personally like i have many a time big on feature walls and i encourage everyone to have them done right.

3. 50 Shades Of Grey

People don’t like cream in 2018 as they feel it looks yellow. White feels to stark and gets dirty so we are left with grey. Grey’s popularity has gained some serious momentum in the latter part of 2017, and this looks set to continue into 2018. As a neutral colour, grey can be paired with almost any shade – and depending on the choice of finish, it can be used to pull off a number of different aesthetics. From edgy and industrial concrete and rustic wood-effect tiles to classic natural stone and shiny metro tiles, grey bathroom tiles are going to be a trend worth trying out in 2018 – offering numerous ways to create an impactful bathroom design. Paired with a nice wood grain vanity it really finishes off a bathroom.

I picked these three because they are practical and won’t date as quick as others bathroom tiling trends.

When doing patterned tiles be careful to overdo the colour and grey tiles try not to go too dark. Its about being practical in your choices without having to nail a home run for every item in the room. The combination of light walls, darker floor and one feature are my keys to all bathroom planning, especially with tiles.

Granite Is No Longer the Most Popular Kitchen Surface and This Material Is

We hope you like the products we recommend. Just so you are aware, Freshome may collect a share of sales from the links on this page.  Granite has been the counter surface of choice in many high-end homes since its heyday in the 1990s. But the material is not the most low-maintenance or contemporary looking. For those who went against the grain and chose an alternative material like quartz, you are now a majority! The National Kitchen & Bath Association  announced its results from a survey of kitchen designers that granite is no longer the top choice for kitchen counters — quartz is. In the granite vs quartz battle, quartz takes first place and here’s why: Contemporary kitchens are preferred over traditional styles The top choices for kitchen design are contemporary style and quartz over granite.
